2008

Dear All,
Just to recap what was discussed last friday on what we would like to do in 2008.

1) We want to take turns to lead the group - plan the schedule, program, discussions ,etc.Proposal is for 2 person to co-lead a quarter each. For Q1 2008, we are happy that Christina and Lin have volunteered. We are awaiting for others to sign for Q2, Q3 & Q4

2) For discussions, we want to embark on topical studies. Topics will be given to us before hand and we are to search the scriptures and research the subject before coming together to discuss. We would want the discussions to be applications centered. Example of a topic is anger.

3) We want to meet together 4 times a month. For every month that has a fifth friday, that friday will be off to allow us time to meet with our friends, families, etc.

4) We want to make the church prayer meeting an integral part of the cg activities.

5) We want to have one of the meetings to be a time for other activities; eg games - badminton, etc or visitation or street evangelism. This event can be held on day/evening other than friday. The activity time will be a good time for us to connect with others; eg Qiming, Delwin, Meijun, Joyce.....Summary on meeting frequency: 4 x a month. 2 regular meetings, 1 church prayer meeting, 1 activity.

6) As we meet, we want to come to share blessings so that we can glorify God and encourage others. We also want to come to minister to one another, through discussion and discovery biblical responses to life issues we are facing.

7) We will be participating fully in the Alpha course scheduled from March to May 2008, either by bringing friends or as group discussion leaders. We will attend the Alpha training to be held on 19 and 26 January. We realised that we do not lack head knowledge. We need to move the knowledge to our hearts, to effect life change and to an authentic Christianity. In wanting to do that, we recognise that only God can change us and only He can cause us to grow. We will want to guard ourselves against being activity centered to relationship centered, especially in our personal relationship with God.There is much to look forward to in 2008 as we seek to grow, as individuals and as a group, in our walk with God and to live to be useful for Him.For those who were absent last friday, please add your views. For those who were present, please comment on any points missed or are misrepresented.
Thank you.BK

No pointers amiss - all full full. Btw, when is Q1 C.L team's deadline to submit topic for discussion?
